Hyderabad to have Indo-Arab Cultural Centre

Hyderabad: To strengthen ties between India and Palestine and as part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations, the Hyderabad based Indo-Arab League is planning to set up an Indo-Arab Cultural Centre in the city.

The proposed centre will have a capacity to accommodate 2,000 persons for seminars and meetings.

Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, representatives of the League said the golden jubilee celebrations would be held in the city on October 29, with Ambassadors of different countries including Jordan, Palestine, Sudan, Yemen, Iraq, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman to participate.

Syed Vicaruddin, Chairman, Indo-Arab league, Hyderabad and Editor of Rahnuma-e-Deccan also said there were proposals for setting up an Islamic Research Centre and an Office of Palestine in Hyderabad for which the League would provide land at Banjara Hills with a budget of Rs 60 crore.

“As part of a cultural exchange programme, we are also planning to send journalists and 15 intellectuals to Palestine,” he said.

Mir Akbar Ali Khan, Vice Chairman, Indo-Arab League said there were also plans to set up an Indo-Arab University in the city, which will be open for foreign students too.
